The Distributed System Connector for WorkSite is a collection of dozens of new commands to completely reroute all of the native WorkSite document operations to handle them better in multi-database environments, especially non-meshed Parallel environments, or environments where there are shortcuts to documents in folders where the physical document resides on a different server/database than the server to which the user is currently logged in
This product can be especially helpful for firms that have multiple databases in multiple offices or regions around the world, and their users need to frequently access documents in different WorkSite databases and servers. The Distributed System Connector allows for more efficient use of network and WorkSite system resources by allowing users to seamlessly connect as needed, marshal those connections, and dispose of them when no longer needed. The Distributed System Connector also provides unique utilities for managing document shortcuts in distributed environments.
Connects on-the-fly to any server needed to allow a user to access a document to perform document functions on it
Improves functionality of native WorkSite commands (such as allowing multiple documents to be opened at once)
Reuses existing WorkSite sessions as needed
Removes dynamically created sessions when no longer necessary
Completely client-side operation - no dedicated server required, no back-end system modifications required
Can be quickly substituted for any or all native WorkSite document operations
Can be used in combination with native functions if desired by any combination of users, or even on the same workstation
Completely transparent to users
